Details are an incredible element in family travel. As a mom
of seven. I can go on all day on how useful details are. Missing them can hinder your
whole vacation. So, I’ll just focus on what you need to know when family
travels.
Traveling with family is the most exciting time. You build
so many memories. You spend years reminiscing on how you had such a great time.
Through experience, I learned ways to make family travel
easier. When planning it can be a bit tricky. Families has so many needs to fulfill.
My children range from 2 to 18 years old. You can only imagine the details
needed for planning.
Over the years, I learned to pay close attention to details. There is nothing like having a two year old melt down. When you are trying to address complications. These lessons have lead me into the field of becoming a travel counselor. As I now say, a Travel Professional.

The first most important detail is the destination. There is a lot consider when picking a destination. Always
take in consideration the age range and interest of everyone going.
Learn all you can about your chosen destination. All the
activities, attractions and the best means of transportation. What
documentation do you need? How is the weather during your stay? These details will
help you properly prepare.
Always check usa.gov, when traveling.
You can learn all about the health and safety regulations of your destination.
If you are leaving out the USA, don’t forget to register with the Smart
Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). As a precaution of course. This site has informative
information on your destination.

The next major detail is accommodations. Where will you stay? Is it family friendly? Is it a
good fit for your family? Dining options? Always pay attention to the accommodations offered.
Set yourself a budget!! It always helps. This gives you an idea
of what your spending.
The last detail to pay close attention to is activities. What would your family like
to do? Will everyone enjoy the activities? Don’t be afraid to check out free
activities as well. Sightseeing, local parks, pools, beaches and fun classes
are great time fillers. Along with being some of the most enjoyable family times.
Try not to forget, to tired out the children. Then you can
have adult time. Taking along grandparents is a great idea as well.
They are the best sitters, especially at nighttime.
All these details can be a bit consuming. However, it is well worth it. You can always consult a travel professional if needed. There are many perks using a travel professional. It will save you time, mistakes and most important money. The best perk is they are trained to work out the details, less for you to worry about.
